FEMA Flood Hazard Map Update for Franklin County

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is updating portions of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Franklin County and incorporated communities using improved technology, updated topographic data, and revised flood studies. The updated maps are designed to provide residents, businesses, and local officials with a more accurate understanding of flood risk and to support informed planning, development, and mitigation efforts. FEMA has issued preliminary maps and related flood study information, and communities will have opportunities to review and provide feedback before the maps become final and effective. Residents are encouraged to review the updated flood hazard information and learn how potential map changes may affect their property, flood insurance requirements, or future development plans.
